Process for the production of windings of continuous multifilament polycaproamide (polyamide 6) yarn by spinning at high speed and windings obtained by this process, intended to be employed directly in weaving. The process comprises the following stages: extrusion of the molten polymer, cooling of the filaments by blowing, finishing and reeling of the yarn, and is characterised by the fact that during the cooling stage and at the same time as the finishing or immediately before or after it, the yarn is caused to absorb a certain quantity of water, in that the yarn is intertwined pneumatically up to a number of intertwinings of 5 to 30 per metre, and in that after the cooling stage and until the time of reeling, the yarn is maintained in an atmosphere which has a relative humidity of at least 50% and a temperature of 20 to 40 DEG C.
