<p>PURPOSE:To miniaturize an image projecting device on the whole by using an AC type plasma display panel arranged closely to the rear surface of an optical switching element as a light means. CONSTITUTION:The AC type plasma display panel (PDP) 21 which lights up the shutter opening part of the optical switching element is arranged closely to the rear surface of the optical switching element. The AC type PDP is formed in a flat plate having, for example, rectangularly sectioned structure. Then, electrodes 23 and 24 and a dielectric layer 25 are provided on the opposite surfaces of two facing glass substrates 22, and the circumferences of both glass substrates are sealed hermetically with seal glass. Consequently, a light source for lighting and an optical system which are large conventionally are reduced in size to obtain the small-sized image projecting device.</p> |
