PURPOSE:To obtain an ultra-low hydrogen welding material which can decrease considerably the amt. of the diffusible hydrogen in a weld metal by preserving the welding material contg. a solvent in a vacuum atmosphere then in a heating atmosphere in the gas contg. no H2 to decrease the moisture in the solvent then adsorbing gaseous CO2 in the solvent. CONSTITUTION:A welding material 2 contg. a solvent is sealed in a vessel 1 which is then evacuated 3 to a low vacuum. After a valve 5 is closed, a gas (e.g.; inert gas such as N2) 6 contg. no H2 is introduced into the vessel 1 and a valve 7 is closed. The vessel 1 is then heated 4 to remove the moisture from the material 2 and thereafter a valve 8 is opened to decrease the pressure in the vessel 1 to about the atm. pressure. The valve 8 is then closed and the valve 5 is opened to evacuate the inside of the vessel 1 to a vacuum. Such cycle is thereafter performed 1 - plural times to remove the moisture from the material 2. The decrease in the H2-component in the vessel 1 is checked with a residual gas analyzer 9 and finally the valve 5 is closed and the valve 7 is opened to introduce gaseous CO2 10 into the vessel 1. The material 2 adsorbed with the gaseous CO2 and the solvent adsorbed with the gaseous CO2 are taken out to the outside of the vessel 1. |
