PURPOSE:To avert collision of the step of a strip against unit rollers in the stage of coiling by calculating the front end position of the strip from the rotating angle of pinch rollers, the acceleration of the unit rollers, the position of the strip, the set sagging rate thereof, etc. CONSTITUTION:Detectors 18, 19 which detect respectively rotating angles or rotating speeds are provided to pinch rollers 2 and a mandrel 1. A detector 21 which detects the acceleration of a unit roller 5 is provided to a unit roller frame 6 and an IR temp. detector 20 is provided to a unit frame 9. A front end detector 17 is provided in the force stage of the rollers 2. The respective detection signals are calculated by a calculator 16 to know the time when the front end of a strip comes to the succeeding unit roller position. The respective unit rollers 5-5c are retreated just before the front end of the strip arrives at the roller positions of the rollers 5-5c by utilizing the result of such calculation, by which the collision of the step of the strip against the rollers 5-5c is averted. |
