PURPOSE:To suppress splashing of oil, by providing a baffle plate having an opening through which oil passes in such a manner that the baffle plate is located below an oil level in operation, and mounting a baffle cylinder to the baffle plate in such a manner that the baffle cylinder is upwardly projected from the oil level in operation. CONSTITUTION:When an outer cylinder 2 is rotated, oil in an area (a) interposed between a baffle cylinder 11 and the outer cylinder 2 is rotated to form a parabolic oil surface. An oil level on an inner circumferential surface of the outer cylinder 2 is substantially proportional to a difference in radius of the outer cylinder 2 and an inside cylindrical member 3c, and a critical rotational speed at which a flow starts being unstable is substantially reversely proportional to the abovementioned difference in radius. Accordingly, the provision of the baffle cylinder 11 reduces the difference in radius to suppress an elevation of the oil level and stabilize the oil level with a laminar flow maintained. Further, although a vertical vibration is applied to the oil in the area (a), such a vertical vibration of the oil level may be suppressed by an orifice damper effect of a baffle plate 9 and an opening 10 mounted to the plate 9. |
