摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a better operating air-fuel ratio control than the conventional open control, by installing a slit part introducing engine exhaust gas and a solid electrolyte oxygen pump controlling oxygen partial pressure inside the slit part. CONSTITUTION:An air-fuel ratio controlling apparatus for engine is incorporated with a slit part d introducing engine exhaust gas and a solid electrolyte oxygen pump 16 which controls oxygen partial pressure inside this slit part. And, an electromotive force is made to be generated by a solid electrolyte oxygen sensor 20 corresponding to the oxygen partial pressure inside said slit part and the oxygen partial pressure inside the exhaust gas outside said slit part and this apparatus is provided further with a pump current controlling apparatus 9 supplying the specified pump current Ip to said oxygen pump 16 and a controlling means changing said pump current Ip corresponding to an operating condition. By this construction, a more accurate operating air-fuel ratio control than the conventional open control can be realized.
