PURPOSE:To stabilize the performance of a latent image holding body extending over a long period of time by providing a control means which is operated after the removal of a developer is ended, and another control means which supplies continuously a power source to each part of a device containing a driving means until the first control means is operated, when a power source switch is turned off. CONSTITUTION:An optical system 32 is arranged on the lower part of a transparent plate 28 for placing an original 24, the original 24 is scanned by a reciprocating motion in the direction as indicated with an arrow of said system, and a picture light shown by a dotted line 34 is made to form an image as an electrostatic latent image on the surface of a photosensitive body. This toner image converted to a developed image is transferred to a recording medium from a photosensitive surface, and as for the recording medium to which a picture is transferred, a toner is fixed to it by a fixing part 84, and it is discharged to the outside of a device. By constituting an electrophotography as mentioned above, an electric power is supplied to each part of the device until the cleaning operation is completed, even if a power source switch is turned off in the course of a copying operation, therefore, a latent image carrying body is not remained in an unattended state that a residual developer is being stuck to it. Accordingly, the performance of the latent image carrying body can be maintained stably extending over a comparatively long period of time by a simple device constitution without performing a special working to the surface of the latent image carrying body. |
