The housing may include an upper housing portion and a lower housing portion. The upper housing portion may define an inner surface at least partially forming a converging section of the upper housing portion. Additionally, waste disposal may include a plurality of ribs projecting outwardly from the inner surface along the converging section of the upper housing portion.

A waste disposal for processing waste, the waste disposal comprising: a motor; a cutter plate coupled to the motor for rotation therewith; a housing configured to encase the motor and the cutter plate, the housing comprising an upper housing portion and a lower housing portion, the upper housing portion defining an inner surface at least partially forming a converging section of the upper housing portion, the converging section extending axially between a bottom end and a top end, a radial dimension of the housing being reduced as the upper housing portion extends axially along the converging section from the bottom end to the top end, the upper housing portion defining a primary inlet through a top of the housing and a secondary inlet through the converging section, the secondary inlet defining a flow path for water flowing into the housing that extends lengthwise between an outer end terminating at a location exterior to the housing and an inner end terminating at the inner surface of the upper housing portion; and a plurality of ribs projecting outwardly from the inner surface along the converging section of the upper housing portion, each rib including a base end and a tip end, each rib extending along the converging section between the base and tip ends such that the base end is positioned at or adjacent to the bottom end of the converging section and the tip end is positioned at or adjacent to the top end of the converging section, wherein the secondary inlet is oriented relative to the housing such that a centerline of the flow path extends at a non-zero angle relative to a radial direction of the waste disposal.
