A process for producing shaped articles, in particular panels of the type of plasterboard panels and fibre-reinforced plaster panels, is described, wherein the water is fed to the binder mixture in the approximately stoichiometric quantity, relative to the binder, in the form of small ice crystals or adhering small ice crystals which are generated either in situ or are mixed as such with the binder mixture. The whole process takes place with cooling at temperatures below 0 DEG C. For final shaping, the flowable mixture is thawed and shaped. Drying is still necessary only to a small extent.
