An insect-protection blind for window or door openings is indicated, in which a thin fabric or mesh web (1) can be wound up on a rotatable roll (2) mounted in the region of the window or door lintel. A complete and reliable covering of the respective free window or door opening is achieved, preserving the operational and space advantages of a blind, in that the web (1) is provided along its two vertical outer edges with in each case a thickened edge profile (11), the thickened edge profiles (11) are in each case guided positively in a guide groove (30) of a stationary guide rail (3), and at least one part (21) of the rotatable roll (2) is mounted axially displaceably so that the thickened edge profiles (11) can, during winding up of the web (1), be wound up in a helical manner, with axial displacement of the roll (2). <IMAGE>
