The subject of the present invention is a method and device for cleaning a cylindrical part such as a tube. To achieve this, the tube 5 is placed in the bottom of a cylindrical vessel 4 of horizontal axis which contains a cleaning product 7 and the vessel 4 is given a reciprocating rotary movement about its axis: the tube rolls around in the bottom of the vessel and cleaning takes place with no danger of contaminating the drive means of the vessel.
