[Class 42 (i)] Pressing.-In a roller and trough press the trough b is forced against the roller a by an electromotor &c. of known type in which the current continues to flow through resistances when the rotation of the armature ceases, and the pressure between the roller and trough varies with the strength of the electric current which may be shown on a meter. As shown, the motor r operates through a worm and wheel p, o, gearing n, m, links i, g and bell-crank levers f. When the trough b has been lowered the motor r may be reversed automatically.
