A position coder comprising a coding assembly (10), a sensor assembly (20) and a processing unit (30). The coding assembly (10) comprises first and second magnetic tracks, the second track comprising a singular datum and being different from the first track in the regular zone. The sensor assembly (20) comprises first and second sensors (21, 22) each dedicated to one of the tracks. The processing unit (30) determines first and second positions of the coding assembly with respect to the sensor assembly. The first position is determined by counting a number of datums in the first signal since a detection of the singular datum, and the second position is determined by comparing the first and second signals in the regular zone. |
