The essence of the invention is the use of the oscillating chain wheel (although a special gear wheel can also be used) which effects the rotation of the chain (or of the gear wheel with internal toothing) since the rotation of the chain wheel (gear wheel) is made impossible by cross-coupling. The solution presented makes it possible to achieve extremely compact and economically priced mechanisms and this is without doubt a considerable advantage. They can be interconnected in a very simple manner and this is also one of their good features. They can also be used as one half of a coupling and the coupling of the mechanism to the machine is thus extremely simple.
