To match the edge times for rising signal edges at the outputs of an ECL-compatible diode decoder to the much shorter edge times for falling signal edges, novel input amplifiers are used. The novel input amplifiers contain, in addition to the previously used first differential amplifiers for oppositely phased control of row lines of the decoding matrix arranged in pairs, second differential amplifiers followed by emitter followers, the outputs of which are connected to the row lines. <IMAGE>
