The indicator for metals in fodder swaths is mounted on an agricultural tractor and serves for clearing metal particles from fodder swaths, this taking place in that the picked-up fodder swath is guided through the magnetic field of a metal detector, and while magnetizable metal particles are being guided through the magnetic field a current is generated and triggers an acoustic or optical signal on a signalling device or cuts off the drawing-in members directly on a following agricultural harvester.
