PRODUCTION OF METALLIC BELLOWS

PURPOSE:To join alternately the inside and outside circumferences of bellows blank materials of which the prescribed width parts on the inside and outside circumferences to be joined are the exposed bracing seat surfaces and to obtain a satisfactory metallic bellows by superposing said blank materials and subjecting the same to heating under pressure. CONSTITUTION:The inside and outside circumferences to be joined of bellows blank materials 2a, 2b, 34 are formed as exposed bracing seat faces 8 on both or one surface in the prescribed width part thereof. Such bellows blank materials are superposed and are subjected to heating under pressure, by which the materials are joined alternately at the seat 8 parts. The blank materials are thus satisfactorily joined without leakage and a bellows 16 having expanding and shrinking properties when the end plates 18 at the top and bottom ends of the bellows are pulled is obtd. The joined bellows 16 may be made into a prescribed shape by blanking or machining the outside circumference or inside hole after joining.
