NEW MATERIAL:A diazacycloalkane shown by the formula I (R1 is H, or lower alkyl; R2 is furyl, thienyl, or pyridyl which may be replaced with halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower acyl or lower acyloxy; n is 2-4). EXAMPLE:1-(2-Furoyl)-2-benzhydrylimino-3-methylimidazolidine. USE:Having strong lowering action on blood sugar, useful as an oral drug for diabetes. Having an inhibitory action on blood platelet aggregation, effective as a preventive for vascular disorder peculiar to diabetes. Having extremely low toxicity. PREPARATION:A diazacycloalkane shown by the formula II is reacted with an activated acylating agent such as a carboxylic acid halogenide shown by the formula III (X is halogen), or a carboxylic acid anhydride at 0-100 deg.C in a solvent, to give a compound shown by the formula I . |
