In a cutting and grinding device for working plastic and natural-stone slabs, the cutting output and the life of the stock-removing segments arranged in the peripheral part of a disc mounted in a rotatable manner are increased by their being provided with radially running grooves or channels, through which the air flow arising during operation passes and the friction heat is dissipated to the outside. A temperature increase impairing the hardness of the segments is thereby avoided.
