The peeling machine (1) for bars, tubes and wires comprises an inlet apparatus (6) and an outlet device (11) for the work-piece (2). The drive of the outlet device (11) is derived from the motor (21) of the inlet apparatus. The coupling of the drive of the outlet device (11) with the motor (21) of the inlet apparatus (6) is provided by a rod (12) parallel to the work-piece (2) and which provides for the feed of the outlet device (11). In the outlet phase, the drive is preferably provided by a carriage (14) which is part of the outlet device (11) in direct connection with the inlet apparatus (6), while a return motor (20) causes the return motion. A mechanism (13) provides for the switching of the drive for one of the two motors (20, 21). In the form of execution according to figure 3, the rod (47) is embodied by a shaft of which the rotation causes the feed of the clamping carriage (50) which carries a female thread (25) in mesh with a threaded portion (24) of the shaft.
