An automatic sample injection system which has a sample loop applies even the smallest sample quantities in a loss-free manner by using liquid sensors in the sample channel, prevents sample entrainment and contamination of the sample channel by automatically rinsing and drying the channel, excludes the introduction of air instead of sample into the analyser and, as a result of the thermally insulated and light-protected sample stock chamber having a temperature control facility or cooling facility in conjunction with sample stock vessels which can be filled under protective gas and firmly sealed, ensures that the samples remain largely unchanged before the analysis.
