PURPOSE:To attain re-formatting while recovering defective information even at a site where a magnetic disc device is used by storing a nonvolatile memory possible for write in the magnetic disc controller. CONSTITUTION:When a DKC10 receives an instruction to store defective information recorded in a DKU11 from an HOST12, the DKC10 reads a track ID section or an HA section and stores the signal to a RAM17. Then a control CPU2 discriminates whether or not the defective information in the HA section or a flag F of the ID section exists the defective information and if the defective information exists, the defective relating information is stored to a RAMII8. If the defective information of the DKU11 is destroyed due to any cause, the control CPU2 reads the defective relating information from the RAMII8 and reformating is conducted while being written to the ID section or the HA section. Thus, the DKU11 attains reading again. |
