PURPOSE:To obtain a thin insulator which has excellent heat resistance and electric insulation by extruding a mixture of suspension of specific copolymer in a thin state at a specific temperature under the condition for not producing a fisheye, heating and pressurizing at the specific temperature, and crosslinking it. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer or ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer, and a suspension of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, in which the mixing ratio of the ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer or ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer occupying in the mixture is 20-80wt%. This mixture is extruded in a thin state under the condition for not producing a fisheye at a temperature lower than 250 deg.C, the obtained thin product is heated, pressurized at 100 to 400 deg.C, and crosslinked. The thin electric insulator thus obtained has not only preferable heat resistance, but remarkably improved reliability of electric insulation, and the crosslinking capacity and bondability at high temperature pressurizing time. |
