Such a centrifuge drum has a main separating space (14) which is provided with outlets (4) which can be closed off, in which main separating space (14) a fed-in suspension can be separated into a clear phase and a concentrate. The former is drawn off via a plate unit (15), channels (16) and a scraping element (17) whilst the latter passes into a concentrate space (19) with the exclusion of air via an annular gap (18), and from the said space (19) via channels (20) into a concentrate chamber (22) and is drawn off via a scraping element (23). The specifically heavier materials which collect in the concentrate space (19) are discharged periodically by opening the outlets (4). By arranging nozzles (24), which are necessary for the formation of concentrate, on a smaller diameter than that of the concentrate space (19), the channels (20) can be centrifuged free of solids which collect in them during filling or partial emptying processes. As a result, the concentrate can be drawn off without the occlusion of air whilst largely avoiding blockage of the nozzles. <IMAGE> |
