摘要 When rolling aluminium foils, particularly very thin foils, in a range up to 10 mu m, improved uniformity of the foil thickness across the width of the web with a simultaneous increase in the speed at which the web is pulled during rolling is achieved by virtue of the fact that operations are carried out at a working point of the line force/deformation characteristic which is below the saturation range, in which, although the deformation is virtually independent of the line force, the pulling speed is determined by the other parameters and cannot be varied. The fluctuations in thickness which occur across the width due to variations in the line force when such a working point is chosen are compensated by the fact that the line force is controllable and is controlled in such a way that the reduction in thickness across the width is constant or has a desired profile. It is possible to achieve this, for example, by designing one of the rolls as a flexure adjustment roll with a series of pressure elements with controllable contact pressure distributed across the width of the roll.
