<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the period of time required for stopping a recording medium and contrive to enhance printing quality, by impressing a reverse rotating field to a motor to brake the motor, when stopping the movement of the recording medium fed by forward rotation of the motor. CONSTITUTION:When feeding the recording medium for printing, a voltage Vcc is impressed on the motor 21. When stopping the feeding, a change-over switch 23 is operated on the basis of a stopping command signal, and a voltage -Vcc for generating a magnetic field in a direction opposite to the direction of the magnetic field generated by the voltage Vcc is impressed on the motor 21 for an appropriate period of time. As a result, a reverse rotating field is impressed on the motor 21, and the inertia generated in the forward rotation is canceled, whereby the motor is rapidly stopped. Accordingly, the printing quality can be enhanced.</p> |
