In measuring the temperature in the interior of a moving reactor, for example in the interior of a revolving cylindrical furnace, by means of thermocouples, contact wear leads to difficulties in transmitting the measured values with the aid of movable mechanical transmitting devices. The mechanical transmitting devices are very prone to failure. In accordance with the invention, these disadvantages are removed by means of a heat-conducting member (3, 4, 5, 6) which penetrates the reactor wall (2) and is optically connected for the purpose, in each case, of measuring the temperature to a radiometric instrument (7, 8) arranged opposite at a distance outside the reactor wall. <IMAGE>
