PURPOSE:To improve the fuel consumption under low load by providing an engine cooling water path in the partition wall constructing a part of the upper section of combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of intake ports 5, 6 are opened toward the combustion chamber 4. A partition wall 14 is arranged between said ports 5, 6 while extending at the upper section of the combustion chamber 4 in the direction of the intake path 11. Consequently, first and second branch paths 16 are formed. A fuel injection valve 23 will inject fuel toward the partition wall 14. An engine cooling water path 26 is provided in the partition wall 14. Since the heat of vaporization to be taken from the partition wall 14 is compensated through the cooling water, vaporization and spraying of fuel are improved continuously resulting in improvement of fuel consumption. |
