Laundry press

A laundry press possesses an approximately hemispherical pressing basket (3) which is perforated all-round and onto which a lid (4) can be placed sealingly. A diaphragm (9) is fastened inside the lid (4). The gap between the lid (4) and diaphragm (9) can be filled with pressure medium by way of a line (14). The expressed water is collected in a tub (6) and conveyed away. The lid (4) is pivotable via a pivoting unit (8) and the pressing basket (3) via a pivoting unit (8'), so that the pressing basket (3') can be emptied in the simplest way. The pressure medium, which enters the lid (4) by way of the line (14), is initially supplied by a fast-feed pump (5); the actual pressing force is generated by a piston pump (7). <IMAGE>
