The pallet carrier has two fixing points (A, B), at which the pallets are fixed for automatic movement to the machine tool supplied by the pallet carrier. The fixing points also serve to receive the pallets upon their return from the machine tool after the workpieces (7) fixed on the pallets have been machined. The fixing points are situated on a tilting work table (1) which can, on the one hand, be locked in a horizontal position in which the pallets are parallel to a position assumed by them on the machine tool. On the other hand, the work table can be locked in a position in which the pallets are at right angles to their said position on the machine tool and are oriented in a manner which permits easy mounting and removal of the workpieces. <IMAGE>
