The present invention relates to a liquid pump intended for deep, small diameter boreholes. The pump according to the present invention comprises a piston 3, a pump body 4, a pumping-out column 5 and means of operation 6 and is essentially characterised in that the piston 3 is in a fixed position in relation to the bottom of the borehole 1, that the pump body 4 is moveable in translation on the piston 3 and that the said pump body is operated by way of the pumping-out column 5 at the end of which the means of operation 6 are fitted. <IMAGE>
