A cubic garden composter made of wire nets for garden waste has a rectangular base and four rectangular wire-net side parts (1, 2, 3, 4) which are connected to one another at their vertical edges, at least one side part (2, 3) being pivotably linked at its rear edge to a fixed side part (1, 4) and being connected to the edge of the adjoining fixed side part by means of a closing bar (8) which extends through deformed mesh fields at the edge of the fixed side part. To guarantee that each pivotable side part (2, 3) can be closed again after removing prepared compost from the bottom of a filled garden composter, all side parts are produced from an inherently rigid steel-wire net having rectangular meshes, the steel wires of which are welded together at the intersections, and the two opposite fixed side parts (1, 4) are connected to one another parallel and close to the pivotable side parts (2, 3) by means of horizontal tie members (11, 13; 10, 12). At the front edge of each pivotable side part (2, 3) ... neighbouring edge ... adjoining fixed side part (1, 4), each edge mesh-row is bent at approximately 90 DEG like a roof. The edge mesh-rows of the front edge of the pivotable side part (2, 3) are passed over this bent region and the closing bar is inserted.

|
