<p>PURPOSE:To prevent leakage of gas, by a method wherein a gap between a rotatable tongue-shaped member, attached to the opening part of a nozzle, and a turbine housing is varied in size according to rotation of the tongue-shaped member. CONSTITUTION:A tongue-shaped member 40, being rotatable around a portion in the vicinity of a front edge part 40T, serving as a pivot part 40X, is located to a nozzle opening part 6 of a turbine housing 2. A gap CR between an outer peripheral surface 40A of the tongue-shaped member 40 and an peripheral wall surface 2X, positioned facing the outer peripheral surface of the tongue-shaped member, of the turbine housing 2 is formed so that it is increased with the progress of rotation of the tongue-shaped member 40 to a position allowing a flow rate to be brought to a minimum value. This causes a part of gas, guided along a scroll 3B, to be forcibly pushed in the gap CR to increase a pressure, resulting in the possibility to prevent leakage of gas past the gap CR.</p> |
