摘要 The aim is to use modern LCD technology in order to find for an arrangement for the variable graphical representation of shapes and/or curves by means of matrix-driven LCD crystals a simple, high-resolution, variable basic form of representation by means of which it is also possible, in particular, to represent reticular structures. Moreover, it is to be possible to enlarge or reduce true to scale. It is proposed for this purpose that the matrix is built up from an alternating sequence of narrow and wide column electrodes (1 to 7 ...), which are assigned in a further plane row electrodes (a, b, c ...) shaped like a comb or in a meandering fashion, which extend over the narrow column electrodes (1, 3, 5, 7) partially in the longitudinal direction (a', b', c') thereof and over the wider column electrodes (2, 4, 6) in the transverse direction (a'', b'', c'') thereof, the drivable segments (10) being formed by the mutual overlaps with an interposed liquid crystal layer. Particularly expedient is the use of two similarly constructed transmissive matrices optically connected in series, which form, in two planes one above another rotated relative to one another in their image by an angle alpha , preferably 45 DEG , a cross grating. <IMAGE>
