The head 3 of a screw 1 for a motor vehicle wheel has shapings constituting a coding, which only permits the use of a socket 2 shaped according to the corresponding code. By actuating the socket by means of a conventional spanner acting on a six-sided base 11, the screw can be screwed or unscrewed. Some of the shapings 14, 18 have no mutual clearance and serve for driving in rotation. They are the same for all the devices of a set. The other shapings 9, 28 are relatively fragile and interlock with clearance. Their arrangement is characteristic of the coding of each device. Use so that the coding means are not too burdensome without risking breaking under the effect of the torque. <IMAGE>
