The invention relates to a scraper, in particular for the removal of dirt or dust from moving machine parts such as shafts or piston rods or the like, with an annular scraping lip (1) which is in contact with a moving cylindrical machine part (3) and surrounds the latter coaxially. At least that region of the scraping lip (1) which is in contact with the machine part (3) is divided into individual lip segments (4) as seen in the circumferential direction. These can move radially and in the circumferential direction independently of one another. The scraping lip (1) is composed of a semi-rigid plastics material or a material with similar properties.
