The device according to the invention has a hexagonal filling nozzle (1), the distance between the corners situated in the central longitudinal plane being greater than the distance between the surfaces which extend parallel to it and which form the longitudinal sides of the filling nozzle (1). Six clamping jaws (4 to 9) are assigned to the filling nozzle (1), which jaws are designed to be linear and once again describe a hexagon when in the position adjacent to the filling nozzle (1). The bag in between is clamped without deformation, so that no channels are produced through which the filling material or dust particles can escape to the outside. The clamping jaws (6 to 9) which are situated on the end faces of the filling nozzle are designed to be angular, in such a way that the legs form an obtuse angle. The region adjacent to the longitudinal edges of the bag is clamped between the legs, which extend parallel to one another when the jaws are closed, the size of this region depending on the width of the bag (Figure 3).
