Summary relating to a base magnifier with indirect illumination. The abovementioned invention can be used as an aid for seeing, reading and working. The special lens mounting permits binocular vision free from difficulties or disturbing fixation stimuli such as occur in the case of magnifiers having a rim. Different magnifiers and lens systems can be inserted depending on the intended use.
