It consists of an assembly comprising two loose rollers 12,13 forming a pulley block for the yarn 4, one of the rollers 12 driving, during its rotation, a cam 15 (or the like) which, in each revolution, acts on a detector 18 sending information to a centralised counting system 19 which, in the absence of or during a variation (decrease) in the frequency of the pulses determined, corresponding to an exact unit of length, likewise causes said station to stop. <IMAGE>
