An electrical wound capacitor consists of coating-carrier films (1, 2) which are provided on both sides with thin metal layers (3 to 6), in a manner such that they can be regenerated. Arranged between the coating-carrier films (1, 2) are uncoated plastic films (7, 8) which are narrower than the coating carrier films (1, 2). In addition to the metal layers (3 to 6) which are used as main electrodes, auxiliary electrodes (9 to 12) of width y are arranged on the coating-carrier films (1, 2), which auxiliary electrodes (9 to 12) are isolated from the main electrodes (3 to 6) by insulating strips of width x. <IMAGE>
