The present invention relates to a fore-hearth intended for making use of heating boiler installations provided with an automatic supply of solid fuels such as wood chips or similar products on the one hand and/or of liquid or gaseous fuels such as fuel oil or a heating gas on the other hand, respectively by means of a worm and gas or fuel oil burners, the air being supplied by the blower 5 of the burner, while the residual gases 14 pass into the heating boiler via the evacuation duct 12 which faces it. The fore-hearth 1 is divided by means of a grating 2 into an upper combustion chamber for the solid fuels, and a lower combustion chamber for the liquid or gaseous fuels, the front edge of the said grating 2 acting as a member for dividing the air flow coming from the blower 5. <IMAGE>
