<p>The subject of the invention is a shaft furnace for the manufacture of aggregates from ceramic raw material. The inside of the shaft (3) is divided into chambers (9a to 9l) by a large number of horizontal floors (8a to 81). Each floor consists of a number of adjacent elongate floor elements (10) which are tilted about their longitudinal axis at regular time intervals in order to make possible the falling through of the material. The inside of the shaft is divided into a number of zones, for example into a preheating zone (30), a reaction zone (31) and a cooling zone (32). Adjacent zones are in each case separated from one another by at least one relatively gas-impermeable floor (8c, 8i). Inside each zone, there is at least one gas-permeable floor (8a, 8b, 8d in Figure 1, 8e to 8h, 8k, 8l). Each zone has in its lower region a gas inlet and in its upper region a gas outlet. Additional gas inlets are provided in particular in the reaction zone. The shaft furnace makes possible exact management of the process conditions in the individual treatment stages without undesirable mutual influence. <IMAGE></p> |
