PURPOSE:To obtain compact, light weight lead-acid battery by accommodating a plate group comprising positive and negative plates and a separator into an acid resistant synthetic resin bag whose three sides are sealed to form a unit cell, connecting a plurality of unit cells in series or parallel, and sealing these cells into a bag-shaped jacket. CONSTITUTION:A pate group 9 comprising a positive plate 6, a negative plate 7, and a separator 8 is accommodated into an accommodation bag 5, whose three sides are sealed, comprising acid resistant synthetic resin such as polyolefin, and the accommodation bags are connected in series or parallel, then sealed in a heat adhesive bag-shaped jacket 1 obtained by stacking a polyolefin film 2, a barrier layer 3 such as polyvinyl chloride, and a thermoplastic resin 4 such as polyester from the inside in order. By using thin soft films, a battery is made compact and light weight, and a production process is easily automated. |
