Device for introducing a gas into a liquid, consisting of at least one pipe 2 pierced by at least one orifice 4 through which the gas is injected, characterised in that the said orifice is equipped with an elastically deformable membrane 1 itself containing one or more orifices 5. The elastically deformable membrane is tubular and surrounds the pipe on some of its parts or completely. It consists of a natural or synthetic elastomer or the equivalent which is elastically deformable under the action of the pressure of the fluid injected. Appliction of the device to the introduction of air or oxygen into a liquid such as water, caused to pass through a bed of granular material in a filter used for aerobic biological purification, the device consisting of a branched network of pipes 12 for introducing air or oxygen, the orifices of which are equipped with an elastically deformable membrane containing one or more orifices. <IMAGE>
