A sheet transportation control apparatus comprising a sheet conveyor for sequentially fetching and conveying sheets, a detector for detecting a jam of sheets during conveyance, a speed switching circuit for switching conveying speed of the sheet conveyer between high and low speeds, and a conveying direction switching circuit for switching a conveying direction of the sheet conveyer between both forward and reverse directions. After the conveying direction switching circuit reversed the sheet conveyer for only a predetermined period of time in response to a detection of the jam by the detector, the sheet conveyer is again forwardly rotated, thereby automatically solving the jam of sheets. |
