METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SHAPE OF STRIP

PURPOSE:To change the acuteness while the specified elongation per cent is maintained and to control the shape of a strip in the state of controlling the shape of the strip by winding different speed rolling by utilizing the range where the specified elongation per cent arises during rolling to adjust the rolling force. CONSTITUTION:The specified ranges alpha, alpha' of the elongation per cent where the elongation per cent is maintained constant with respect to the rolling force exist if the strip is subjected to the winding different speed rolling under the conditions of, for example, 0.5mm sheet thickness and 1% and 2% different speed ratio. This range is larger as the coefft. of friction and winding angles theta0, theta1 of the winding part of the strip 3 to work rolls 1, 2 are larger. The acuteness is determined by the equation l/hX100(%) from one pitch l and wave height (h) of the waves such as middle waviness and edge wave of the strip 3. The relation between the acuteness and the rolling force is a shown in the figure. The shape of the strip 3 can be controlled without changing the elongation rate by controlling the rolling force in the range alpha or alpha'. The rolling of the strip having high quality is thus made possible.
