PURPOSE:To enable miniaturization and the high speed recording of a color image without using a thermal head having a special shape, by passing recording paper on a thermal head so as to recirculate the same by the number of coloring times and successively adhering the solid ink of each color of an ink ribbon to the surface of the recording paper in a molten state. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper feed path 31 for guiding single recording paper 22 from a recording paper receiving part 20 to a line scanning type thermal head 12, a recording paper discharge path 32 for guiding the recording paper from the thermal head to the outside of the apparatus and a recording paper recirculation path 33 of which the inlet 33a is faced to the recording paper discharge path 32 and the outlet 33b is faced to the recording paper feed path 31 are formed. A flapper 52 is arranged to the meeting part of the recording paper discharge path and the recording paper recirculation path and, by driving said flapper to one side, the recording paper fed out from the thermal head is guided to the recording paper recirculation path to be again fed to the thermal head and this operation is repeated to successively adhere the solid ink of each color of an ink ribbon to the surface of the recording paper in a molten state and, by driving the flapper to the other side, the recording paper discharge path is opened to discharge the recording paper out of the apparatus. |
