PROCESSING METHOD FOR TRACK OF MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To facilitate the removal of a processing gas and the packing of molding glass by preliminarily processing track holes by a laser beam to blocks on reading and writing sides, at a center and on an erasing side and molding the glass into the track holes then adhering the blocks and forming a magnetic gap. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic material block 1 on the reading and writing side, the center block 2 and the magnetic material block 3 on the erasing side are respectively formed and thereafter the blocks are positioned on a processing table of a laser beam machine in such a manner that the surfaces for forming the magnetic gap are paralleled with each other. The holes each having the shape corresponding to half the track hole are formed to the respective blocks by the laser beam 4 throttled by a condenser lens 5. The glass is molded into the track holes of the respective blocks upon ending of processing of the track holes and thereafter the blocks are adhered at the surfaces forming the magnetic gap to form a gapped bar. The chip which is the constituting unit of one magnetic head is thereafter obtd. by cutting.
