Adjustable connection of a retaining rail and of a basic plate

A raising and lowering device for side windows of motor vehicles is composed of a basic plate which is moved along two racks running in the direction of movement of the window, and of a retaining rail which receives the window. The basic plate and the retaining rail can be pivoted and displaced with respect to one another via connecting parts engaging in guides, with the result that the window, in the installed position, can be fitted to a given window opening.
