The device presented allows the vertical handling of wooden, laminated, plastic, cement, plaster, glass etc. panels of large size. The novel characteristic of this appliance is locking the panel in the vertical position, forming a rigid assembly and thus facilitating its displacement without the risk of it falling over. Two vertical jaws 1 and 2, securely fastened to a chassis 6 + 7 + 8, one of which jaws is mobile, move towards one another under the weight of the panel. The mobile jaw 2 is guided by a slideway 4 and returned to the open position automatically by a spring 5. The appliance is intended for all professions working with panels of large sizes: joiners, cabinet makers, manufacturers of furniture, installers of partitions or false ceilings, glaziers etc. <IMAGE>
